Aliwal Spa Well ... the sign didn't say "NO KAYAKING " !!

Heidi on the first kayak descent of the Aliwal Spa, 10 o'clock one night when the warmth of the Aliwal Spa beckoned after a freezing cold Malibamatso.

Coming out of the forest you cross a road and hit the beach ... and these enormous dunes just loom up in the distance. And the photo doesn't even begin to do justice to it ... Loom if you're a Dune

You Just Can't Keep A German Down Sea, sand ... and Holger - the irrepressibly good-humoured East Berlinner.

And even though he missed the point of Heidi's joke about German humour he was great to have along.

Once a Dune Always A Dune Turning inland from the hut-by-the-sea you reach dune territory.We were lucky - the cloudy sky, cool weather and light wind made for a thoroughly enjoyable day's hiking through the spectacular dunes for us Fremen.
