From a distance... Up close and personal
Just another spectacular granite inselberg in the Namibian desert ... well, no, actually its damn bloody beautiful. Graeme and Sebastian went awfully quiet when they saw it for the first time. Then they ran around fondling rocks with their jaws dragging on the ground for another couple of hours.

Sundowner Arch A day of R & R ... spent exploring the rocks and lizards and insects and things.

And then there was this enormous arch that was completely hollow inside and perfect for sundowners !
The Taming of the Cricket

Down To The Start Sebastian on the abseil to the start of the route ... The First Pitch (For Which Sebastian Owes Us Beers)
... and on the first pitch.
For obvious reasons (i.e. sanity) there are no photo's of the slog up, the #$%@* terrible triple-step chimney or the unmentionable squeeze chimney.

Tony belaying Sab up the second pitch The airy stance at the top of the second pitch

Graeme leading the third pitch ...
Grimm on the third pitch

What the f$#@% ... The Grimmeister and The Crux
Sebastian at the start of the crux pitch Graeme posing for a photo
(well ... he has to impress Carey somehow !!)

Belay stance with attitude ...    Maybe Camel would sponsor us next year ...
