Hello everyone…….and especially the climbers LOL

As most of you are probably aware, TUKS has an adventure club called Exploratio.

They are organizing the 4th annual Everest Challenge and it is quite an exiting and interesting event.

The Everest Challenge is a 24-hour Climbing Festival/Challenge where teams of (up to) 12 members compete to climb the full height of Mt. Everest (8848m) within 24 hours.

Date:The new date is 15 October 2011
Location:It will now take place at the Climbing Barn just outside Pretoria
Timing:Teams are expected to be ready 11am for the briefing. Event kick’s of at 12

There will be prizes for the winning 3 teams and many spot prizes during the event. The sponsors will also be present at the event and I am sure there will be some good deals available in climbing and adventure gear.

Team cost is R900 and if 12 members strong, cost per member will only be R75.

This includes an event t-shirt. (if the order received in time, it might also have your team name printed on it)

Top-ropes will be in place but all other gear (shoes, harnesses, etc) will be the team’s own responsibility.

As this is a 24 hour event, it is very much a spectator sport and the teams will appreciate as much support as possible (to stay motivated, aware……and awake LOL)

So bring your braai, bring your couch, bring your cooler and beach ball and come and have some fun.

have taken the liberty to invite friends as well as MCSA to come and participate so this will not be an exclusively ESSA team…..unless 12 of you commit of course.

Please send me any suggestions for a team name.

Please let me know if you are interested in participating. Also let me know your t-shirt size and Male/Female fit. (I need your confirmation for the shirts by the 23rd)

Also let me know if you will come and support.
