Africa Trek II: In the Footsteps of Mankind

From Mount Kilimanjaro to the Sea of Galilee

Alexandre and Sonia Poussin

Three years, eleven countries, 1,200 families, 14,000 kilometers of adventures while walking in the footsteps of mankind through the Cradle of Life.

The charming French couple Alexandre and Sonia Poussin are back with the second instalment of their incredible and groundbreaking journey through Africa.

With the first seven thousand kilometres under their belt, Alexandre and Sonia continue their trek to walk the length of Africa entirely on foot. From the Cape of Good Hope to the Sea of Galilee, along the Great Rift Valley of East Africa, their goal was to symbolically retrace the passage of early Man, from Australopithecus to Modern Man. Starting where volume I leaves off, this volume entrances readers with new, unexpected events both heart-warming and horrifying.

About the Authors

Alexandre is a travel-writer, journalist and TV presenter. He graduated in Political Sciences and mastered in Geopolitics. Sonia graduated in Social Studies at the Sorbonne, and mastered in Educational Practices of Developing Countries.

Praise for Africa Trek I

“Africa Trek ends up as a most enjoyable read, best read before bed so that your own impossible dream of travelling into Africa is suddenly not so impossible anymore” The Mail and Guardian.

“There is a strong, elegiac timbre to the writing. Out of his random encounters with ordinary people- farmers, farm workers, tribe’s people, artists, businessmen, dissidents and those trapped under the cloak of dictatorship - Poussin has fashioned a form of reportage tinged with poetry.”  The Witness.
