The stretch we're going to do is from above Hopetown to Douglas (near
Kimberley). It's a truly mellow section of the Orange, with mostly
lazy meandering flats & lovely sandy dune-beaches. There are a few
current accelerations & 'wave-trains' further down, & the river
narrows into a shallow, ebony rock-sculptured gorge.
Join Tim Biggs in his amazing quest as he becomes the first person to kayak the three major tributaries of the Amazon River, beginning on the Urubamba River in 1981, continuing on the Apurimac River in 1985, and concluding 23 years later on the Marañón River.

We've returned from our Rovuma River trip in Northern Moçambique on the border with Tanzania, just off Lake Malawi. This trip was an EPIC of all epics! Rafting accidents were about the only thing not on the agenda! It took us 7 solid days driving; 7 days paddling like crazy; and 7 days slogging back slowly with a smashed and renovated radiator.
