Staying Cool in the Land of Fire: A Pelagic Trip to Climb Mountains - Cally Henderson

Cally Henderson
Johannesburg Monthly Meeting
Saturday, February 2, 2013 - 19:30

While Cally H has for the past decade been mostly a very laid-back adventurer, she has occasionally fetched up in some cool places and attempted some moderately crazy things. She also confesses to being a specialist generalist, so has played at all kinds of things, but never become very good at any of them.

This presentation will take you on a Pelagic trip down Tierra del Fuego’s Beagle Channel into some wild waters amidst the tremendous, frozen ramparts of the Darwin Range. This is one of the most inaccessible mountain ranges on any continent other than Antarctica, since you can get to it only from the water.  So famous yachties, legendary climbers, naked natives, williwaws and CallyH make their appearance in this multi-faceted exploration of this fabulous place.
