This is a short but sweet overnight horse riding trip, on the outskirts of Joburg, consisting  of 2 rides and a sleep over on top of the mountain overlooking the back of Johannesburg. The farm does have some game, and we have spotted the black wildebeest and springbok on many a ride.

We meet at Stirrup Glen on saturday afternoon for 2pm.  Choose a horse, tack up and go on a 2 hour horse ride up the mountain,  stopping for sundowners on the way. Once we get there, the horses are put in a paddock for the night and we settle down around a fire for dinner. Next morning after breakfast, we tack up and ride back down the mountain to be back at the cars by 12pm.

A single mattress is supplied for each person and there are 2 rooms and a lapa in which to crash. There are toilets and a cold shower. You will need to bring your own sleeping gear as  well as your own food and beverages. All belongings and mattresses will be taken up to the sleep over spot, on a bakkie and will be there when we arrive via horse back.

As this trip was prebooked I have only 3 places left, but will organise another one for all those who are interested at a later time in the year. THe cost is R250 for the ride. You don't have to know how to ride as the group will be split for those who can ride, to have a fast ride and those who can't, can take a leisurely stroll. Long pants and closed shoes for riding are a must.
