It’s not often that one location can cater for so many styles of a sport and then still offers more. Want to boulder? Test your sport climb skills on easy stuff……..or push yourself to the max on really hard sends? Multi pitch climb? Hike? Mountain bike? Star gaze? Hang out with interesting people?

If any of this peaks your interest then join us for an awesome weekend in a beautiful place where you can take it as hard, or easy, as you like.

Equipment

This is a club outing so there will be some club equipment that includes harnesses, ropes and helmets.

There will not be enough equipment for everyone so if you have some gear, then please bring it.

If you have some spare stuff, then please bring that as well.

Event organization

This is a joined meet of MCSA and ESSA.

Members and guests will book through the respective clubs and if you will be a guest, you will pay that club’s guest fees.

Catering

NONE!! Everyone caters for themselves. Bring your own food, drink, cutlery, ice, etc. I believe we will braai in the evenings so we will collect R15 from each person in the evenings to go buy some wood/charcoal.

Location

Swinburne. (http://www.saclimb.co.za/freestate/swinburne_main.html)

* We might nip out to Eagle Mountain quickly one morning to train some people on easy multi pitch climbing. This is a different location 20-30km away with guests fees applicable.

When

07 - 09 February 2014.

I am driving through on Friday after work, staying over Friday and Saturday evenings and will be driving back during Sunday. (to and from Pta)

Guest fees for ESSA and MCSA (applicable to all members not paid up for the year 2014….i will check) is R40 for the weekend.

The double rooms are really nice with two single beds, bedding, shower and toilet (plus kettle J)

The barn offers lots of bunk beds with mattresses, a communal kitchen (open plan) and a fire place. (some limited and basic pots/pans/etc)

There is also a stove, electricity and a communal fridge in the barn but the fridge it’s not too big so please bring your own cooler box/bag as well.

The showers and toilets are just outside the barn.

There are plenty of chairs to sit around outside and a few braais as well.

The accommodation is limited and the rooms usually fly so contact Swinburne ASAP to check and book your preferred snoozzz selection. You will need to make payment for your selection to confirm your spot.

Car Pool

Hmmmmmm perhaps you should let me know from what area you will be leaving and your willingness to car pool. I can then put people in contact with each other so they can see if they can organize something. I know there will be quite a few people leaving from Pretoria and a nice place to meet there is the LC sports grounds in Hatfield.

I look forward to getting a nice group of you together.
